About
Toni Sikes
Toni has been involved with Humin since 2016, initially collaborating with leadership to explore the development of their mobile app and the organization’s strategic path. Current affiliations that support this work include serving on the Executive Committee of the Wisconsin Technology Council and as a Board Member of the WAVE Entrepreneurship Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Throughout her career, she has also worked as an investment banker and venture capitalist, with a focus on early-stage technology companies.
She earned a Master of Science in Market Research from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Alabama. Her professional achievements have been recognized with honors including the Hendricks Memorial ‘Seize the Day’ Award from the Wisconsin Technology Council, the Best in Business Award from Madison Magazine, the Entrepreneurial Achievement Award from UW-Madison, and induction into the Executive Hall of Fame by In Business Magazine.
She has spent over 40 years developing companies and products that market the work of artists — first through sourcebook directories, then through e-commerce and catalogs, and currently with an online platform that connects all members of the public art industry. Along the way, her companies raised over $50 million in investment capital and helped many artists make a living with their artwork. Her deepest passion has always been connecting artists with the audiences and opportunities that allow their work to thrive, and she feels incredibly fortunate to spend her days collaborating with creative people whose work brings meaning, beauty, and connection into the world. That same belief in the power of creativity to transform lives connects her professional path in public art to her board service with Humin. She believes public art and mental well-being are deeply intertwined: both are rooted in human connection, shared experience, and the creation of environments that help people feel seen, inspired, and emotionally supported. When public spaces include art, they become places where people pause, reflect, gather, and belong — all essential ingredients of well-being. In this way, her work has never really been about art alone, but about helping create a world where human creativity and human flourishing go hand in hand.
